Piano+Vocal Coaching
Beth is currently the director of SFBC's Fine Arts Academy in Seymour, Tennessee.
"While in high school I was able to play with and for Beth. Not only did I feel like I was able to take what I already knew to the next level, but I had a lot of fun while doing it as well. Beth has so much experience to offer to her students. One of the best things about teaching style is her is her ability to meet you where you are at musically. She was able to take from where I was and push me not only to where I wanted to be, but also to performances I never thought I could do musically."

"I've had the unique privilege of being Beth's student both privately and academically. As she was teaching me when I was a little girl in her private piano studio, Beth gave me a musical foundation that I am still building onto today. As my high school music teacher, Beth, within the span of about a year, gave me the instruction and encouragement necessary for me to transition from a student nervous for her first public singing solo to a student capable of conquering a major supporting role in a musical and exploring a creative side of herself that she didn't know existed. Beth is an incredible teacher because not only is she an expert in all things music, but she cares deeply for her students in the most intentional and creative ways."
-Sarah Morgan
"Beth Smith is one of the most genuine professionals you will ever meet. She has worked with both of my children during their high school journey.
Beth helped my son find the confidence to step outside his comfort zone and perform both vocally and as a musician.
Beth helped my daughter develop a true love for performing. Beth is able to find the right music for my daughter’s vocal skills then work with her to strengthen her voice and stage performance.
My husband and I are impressed by the level of talent she pulls out of so many students.

Q+A

More Info on SUMMER SESSIONS HERE

What does a normal lesson look like?
A typical lesson would include working on challenges from the prior week and exploring new techniques that will help the student reach his/her goal, whether that be an upcoming performance, or building on his/her skillsets.

What do we bring to lessons?
Any music that we are working on or any music that they would like to learn.

What kind of music do you teach?
All. Kinds. All of it! But we will not always be rehearsing specific music. Some lessons will be technique-based or targeting specific struggles you may be facing with their voice or piano technique.
How much are lessons?
Pricing is listed as $25 per half hour lesson.

What age should I start lessons?
Young students - A safe place to start is when they know their alphabet and numbers well and have the attention span of roughly 30 minutes. Older students - there's NO limit. Artists can rock out no matter how young/old they are, and we never ever stop learning! Music is proven to combat Alzheimer's and dementia, and studies show that young children/adults who study music are stronger problem solvers, better students, successful public speakers, and even calms anxiety.

Are there payment options?
You can pay lesson by lesson, by month, or by session.

Do I need a piano to take piano lessons?
Yes. Many keyboards that have the full 88 keys and a pedal attachment will suffice if there isn't an acoustic piano in the home.

Do I have to play piano to take voice?
Not at all. Accompaniments will be recorded or created/tracks found for any songs needed to perform, as well as helpful exercises.
